Conclusion
In conclusion, performing online ritual can be equally as satisfying as offline ritual.
It depends what you want to bring to it.
You may come to ritual thinking it’s not going to work how can you have a virtual ritual? Well, as I mentioned earlier, reiki, as those of you that practice it know, uses energy that is universally available as is all energy, that’s how online ritual works.
We link together by the ‘all pervasive’ energy and therefore can direct it between those of us coming together at the same time to perform online ritual, just as is done with reiki.
There are many people unable to attend offline rituals for one reason or another. They don’t have a group near that they can get to, or they are disabled in some way and can’t take part. Online rituals perform a function by providing something for those unable to find offline, an alternative that can at least give them an idea of what taking part in ritual is like!
You can if you do have a problem writing ritual go online where you will find many rituals which you can adapt to make them yours. If you do this often enough you will find you can write ritual from the beginning which will then be totally all your own work.
Some people find it very easy to write ritual, but there is nothing wrong in adapting someone else’s as long as you do give credit for the original author. However please do ask permission first to use someone else’s ritual as some have copyright on them and I wouldn’t want you to get yourself into trouble.
There is a lot of text in a ritual so unless you really like typing and never make a typo then it’s always best to copy and paste all parts of ritual. It is so much less tiring for the leader of ritual to do this. Do remember to give everyone enough time to respond, some people type their responses slowly.
Always try to remember to take a copy of the ritual you have just performed. Those attending do like to have a copy and will probably ask you for one.
A lot of online rituals use HP or HPs as title for the leader of ritual. I don’t believe that online ritual warrants this title and you will not find it in any of my rituals. A lot of my ritual leaders are not members of the High Priesthood, some of them are only
You may also find you have to rely on those that turn up to call quarters for you however if you do this too often then it can frighten away anyone that is shy and feels they couldn’t possibly call a quarter. They either never come again or they turn up after ritual has started so they cannot be called on.
Remember that if you make a mistake during ritual, just carry on don’t stop and apologise you can do this after close of ritual, it will tend to interrupt the flow. And it really doesn’t matter because Deity knows your intentions for ritual and you are only human. Making mistakes in ritual is one of the main reason people don’t like to lead them or call quarters, they feel they will make a fool of themselves by making mistakes. In fact we regularly make mistakes in ritual despite it being scripted, it’s very easy to do and something which is easily forgotten.
I also suggest you advice at the beginning of ritual that if anyone should get thrown out of the ritual room due to no fault of their own to dismiss quarters and ground and
release, otherwise they will be left with unwanted energy which is better given back to Deity. This could also happen to you so it is advisable that someone else in ritual knows how to conduct a ritual so they can complete it for you.
Basic Ritual
As promised, here is a basic ritual used in our
Healing Ritual
Although this is a basic healing ritual it can also be adapted for a Sabbat Ritual or a Moon Ritual it gives the basic outline and order of ritual.
You may use this ritual as it is or you can adapt it to make it as elaborate as you wish.

We have come together tonight to focus our energy to bring healing to those in need of it. Let us cast the circle together.
Please imagine yourself standing in a circle with everyone else present at this ritual. In your mind, see a beautiful, far-stretching meadow filled with trees and flowers.
Take a moment to visualize this beauty.
Now, in your mind, stretch out your hands to the people on your right and left.
Take their hands, and feel how your energy multiplies as you join with them.
The Circle is cast by our power. We are between the realms of humankind and of the Mighty Ones. In this Circle of Art, we will focus our healing energy tonight.

Leader:
Beloved Goddess, Mother of the Earth which surrounds and nourishes us, we call upon your love and abundance.

Let us all now combine our energies to send healing to those in need. Please visualize the following with me:
Still holding the hand of the people on your right and left, imagine a beautiful flower in front of you, suspended in the air.
Choose any flower you like. Make it radiant and clear, imagine the colours as beautifully as possible.
Concentrate strongly on this vision: Imagine healing energy streaming from your Heart Chakra and filling that beautiful flower. Take a moment for this visualization.
Now, in your mind, send the flower gently forward, until everyone’s flowers form a second circle within our circle.
See all the flowers in your mind, beautiful, radiant, full of life and glowing with energy.
Now, let us name those people who are in need of this healing energy. As you hear their names, please imagine them together, inside the circle of flowers we have created.
Please all say when you are finished.
Here those in attendance name people they want healed
Leader continues:
Now, see the radiance of the flowers growing even brighter and stronger.
Now see each flower move forward until they all gently merge into the bodies of those who have come here for healing.
Imagine the energy of the flowers filling our friends with light, with radiance, with healing.
At this time, add more energy – send them your thoughts of peace, love, kindliness, harmony and health:
We ask that you, our friends Higher Selves, will now accept this healing energy together with our love and blessings: Use it, and become whole, healthy and happy.
In your mind, see the people inside our flower circle accepting this healing energy. See them filled with light, strength, and radiance. Imagine them happy, healthy, and healed.
Now the vision fades, and together we all gently return to normal consciousness.

I will now, for all of us, bless the Chalice and offer it to the Goddess and the God.
